Hey guys! Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Today I want to talk about highlighters. Some of you might remember when I asked for suggestions on best highlighters on Tumblr and on my Instagram. I was so inspired by Ania Milczarczyk and her amazing make up skills. She's seriously the highlight queen! Her pictures are all over Tumblr and Instagram and I've seen them a long time before I found out about her real Instagram account. And I'm so glad I found it. She's incredible!

Here are just a few examples:

So I asked for suggestions and you gave me a few. I did some research and watched tons of reviews and bought some of them;

  • Mac Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skin Finish
  • Nars Albatross Highlighting Blush
  • Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Highlighting Brush Palette in beige
  • Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter by the Balm
  • Benefit High Beam Highlighter
  • Benefit Watt's Up Highlighter
  • Nars Copacabana Illuminator
  • Nars Orgasm Illuminator
Where and how do I highlight (& contour)?

So I've tried all of them out. They're all easy to apply, some are more pigmented some are less pigmented. If you want to go for a really natural look then go for one which isn't too highly pigmented. I always apply highlighter with my MAC 168 Large Angled Contour brush and contouring products with my MAC 163 Flat Contour brush.

My favourites

My favourites of all the ones I've tried out are:
  • Nars Albatross. It's yellow based and gives a dewy look which looks so nice!
  • Mac Soft & Gentle. It's both, highlighter and blush. It's pink based and looks really cute!
  • Mary Lou Manizer by the Balm. It's highly pigmented and looks amazing for clubbing or going out. I wouldn't wear it on a daily basis but it's absolutely amazing!
As you can see I prefered the pressed highlighters over the liquid ones. I think it's way easier to apply, especially for beginners.

I thought I could include my contouring products aswell: I'm using the Givenchy Deluxe Croisière Poudre Terre Eotique Bornzer and a simple bronzer from Mac. The Mac one is more pigmented and shimmery than the Givenchy one
